Survey Data Analysis in R
This self-paced video series introducers students and researchers to the process of using R to analyze survey data. Throughout this course, users will learn how to use R for data cleaning and manipulation, calculating descriptive statistics (e.g., means, SD, correlations), checking the reliabilities of their survey measures, and running quantitative data analyses such as regression, factor analysis, and structural equation modeling (SEM).
Part 1: Introduction (1:29)
This introductory video explains the intended audience, aims, and approach of this course.
Part 2: Downloading & Installing R (2:34)
In this video, we’ll walk through the process of downloading and installing R and R Studio (and explain the difference between the two!).
Part 3: Getting Started in R Studio (5:43)
In this video, we’ll explore the user interface within R Studio and learn the basics of installing and loading packages to expand R’s functionality.
Part 4: Importing & Viewing Data in R (14:07)
In this video, we’ll learn how to import, view, and quickly summarize our datasets, using the tidyverse and psych packages.
Part 5: Calculating Descriptive Statistics (23:42)
In this video, we’ll calculate the reliabilities, means, SDs, and correlations of our survey measures. Additionally, we’ll create a nicely formatted correlation table (using the apaTables package) that we can insert into our manuscripts.
Coming Soon: The next module will cover regression analysis in R. Check back for updates!
